Bei der Möglichkeit, lebenslänglich im Knast zu landen, einfach so die Verteidigung ruhen zu lassen, zeugt von großer Überzeugung Manaforts und seiner Anwälte, den Fall zu gewinnen. Wenn Manafort freigesprochen wird oder nur eine kleine Strafe bekommt, wird das die Mueller-Untersuchung lächerlich aussehen lassen. (Und nicht vergessen: Die Manafort-Klage hat sowieso nichts mit Trump zu tun.)

Dann wird der öffentliche Druck, die Untersuchungen zu beenden, sehr stark werden, inclusive bei den Dems. Die Dems werden den Eindruck gewinnen, dass Mueller insgeheim mit Trump zusammenarbeitet, um sie besonders schlecht aussehen zu lassen. Und wer weiß, vielleicht stimmt das sogar. Aber das werden wir nie erfahren.

Russia-Collusion Verschwörungsgläubigkeit

Das hast Du jetzt mindestens genauso oft gesagt wie Trump ,,No Collusion" getwittert hat, und mit genauso viel Verlangen, die eigene Meinung mit den bekannten Fakten abzugleichen. Bei Trump ist das natürlich verständlich – was könnte er sonst tun? 

Ich darf ganz sanft darauf verweisen, dass seine mittlere tägliche Lügenrate inzwischen auf 9 gestiegen ist. Der hier hat das Zeug zum Klassiker:

Ein wesentlicher Grund, warum die Trumpisten (zumindest in ihrer Filterblase) vergleichsweise erfolgreich sind, ist ihre Unverschämtheit. Wenn ihre Voraussagen eintreffen, dann heulen sie allen die Ohren voll mit ihrem Triumphgeschrei, und wenn nicht (das ist in 90% der Fälle so), dann macht ihnen das gar nix – sie krakeelen einfach die nächste absurde Vorhersage heraus.

Bei der Möglichkeit, lebenslänglich im Knast zu landen, einfach so die Verteidigung ruhen zu lassen, zeugt von großer Überzeugung Manaforts und seiner Anwälte, den Fall zu gewinnen.

Es zeugt davon, dass die Verteidigung nicht einen einzigen Entlastungszeugen aufbieten konnte, den sie für brauchbar halten, die Anklage zu erschüttern. Oder es läuft auf einen plea deal hinaus. Tausend Möglichkeiten, nur die von Dir genannte nicht. Wenn der Prozess platzt, dann wegen dem Richter, der selbst für Jonathan Turley zu kapriziös ist, und das will was heißen.

He then went around the room polling attendees about if it was, in fact, napalm or Agent Orange in the famous scene from "that movie," as the gathering—organized to focus on important, sometimes life-or-death issues for veterans—descended into a pointless debate over Apocalypse Now that the president simply would not concede, despite all the available evidence.

Finally, Trump made eye contact again with Weidman and asked him if it was napalm or Agent Orange. The VVA co-founder assured Trump, as did several before him, that it was in fact napalm, and said that he didn't like the Coppola film and believed it to be a disservice to Vietnam War veterans.

According to two people in attendance, Trump then flippantly replied to the Vietnam vet, "Well, I think you just didn't like the movie," before finally moving on.

The debate over Apocalypse Now in the Roosevelt Room lasted at least two minutes, according to estimates from those who endured it. The president was not able to call on everyone in the roundtable by the end of the event, in part due to these types of tangents.

Here is where consciousness of guilt becomes so straightforward. From the very beginning the President has used every power at his disposal to stop investigations into what happened. He tried to end the investigation into Michael Flynn. He demanded loyalty and protection from the head of the FBI. He fired the head of the FBI because of the Russia probe. He told us it was about the Russia probe. He tried to fire Robert Mueller. He tried to bully Jeff Sessions into resigning so it would be easier to neutralize the investigation. He has been at more or less constant war with the FBI and the Intelligence Community. He openly dangles pardons to thwart the investigation. According to a Washington Post article published today, he's now pushing ahead with revoking the security clearances of various former officials who were tied to the origins of the Russia investigation. He now says it's about the Russia probe. In ordinary life, such flagrant and on-going efforts to prevent the truth from coming out are a clear sign of guilt. We rightly demand a higher standard before the criminal law because that is about taking away someone's liberty. That's not the case here. We're only talking about taking away or restraining the power we have given him to use on our behalf.
