Ah, jetzt versteh ich: "Drain The Swamp" bedeutet, wenn Firmen hinters Licht geführt werden und vergeblich Trumpisten schmieren - die Schmiergelder wurden gedraint. Krötenwanderung, nur eben nicht als Witz.

Das ist alles wahr. So was kann man einfach nicht erfinden.

Weil wir grad bei Avenatti waren. Gestern oder vorgestern war ein Artikel der meistgelesene bei TheHill, der – irgendwie – versuchte, ihn im Deep State zu verorten, aber durch völlige Abwesenheit von Details auffiel: Who is paying Michael Avenatti? Ein Artikel dagegen, der sich mit den Inhalten der Avenatti-Geschichte befasste, hatte 10x weniger Aufrufe. Das ist ein Zeichen dafür, dass er den Republikanern richtig Kopfschmerzen macht. Und wenn die ad-hominem-Feldzüge aus irgendeinem Grund nicht gehen, dann sind sie einfach hilflos.

Ich lasse jetzt mal schlicht alles weg, was außenpolitische Isolierung und Anheizung internationaler Spannungen, Umweltsachen, Homophobie, Fremdenfeindlichkeit, Hofierung der extremen Rechten und der Waffenfanatiker, Abbau der Rechte von Arbeitnehmern und Verbrauchern (Netzneutralität, Finanzaufsicht u. v. a. m.) angeht. Auch den beispiellosen Korruptions-, Russland- und Inkompetenzkleister lasse ich außen vor. Von der Verachtung der Wissenschaft will ich nicht reden, nicht von Militärparaden, nicht von CHIP, DACA, SNAP, Sabotage der Krankenversicherung,  Mietsteigerung für die Ärmsten (,,was ihnen aus der Armut helfen wird"), Untätigkeit in der Opioidkrise usw. usw.

Ich betrachte die Lage einfach mal von dem aus, was ich für Deine Ansicht halte, die der Deplorables (das ist alles entweder erwünscht oder nicht wichtig). Dann bleibt immer noch, dass His Royal Trumpiness auf einer Sojabohne ausrutschen kann:

(He literally said, "...or whatever."), we get news from ICE that they have lost track of 1500 of those children ripped away from their parents who were merely seeking a safer refuge for them.
