Sportler sind meist ganz welche Hübsche, aber das "First Gentleman" finde ich überholt.

Zumal in einer Monarchie ja eigentlich der König der First Gentleman ist bzw. im Falle einer Königin ihr Gatte.

Aber toll, dass die beiden sich offen zu ihrer Homosexualität bekennen, auch wenn die sex. Orientierung eigentlich irrelevant sein sollte. Für mich ist sie es zumindest.

Ist völlig irrelevant. Jens Spahn oder die Nachttischlampe Alice Weidel werden mir auch nicht minimal sympathischer, weil sie zufällig offen homosexuell sind.(Letztere ist mit ihrer migrantischen Patchwork-Familie sowieso ein wandelnder Selbstwiderspruch.)

Ein Jahr Selbstbestimmungsgesetz: Alles gut?
Seit einem Jahr gibt es nun das Selbstbestimmungsgesetz, mit dem Trans- und Interpersonen ihren Vornamen und Geschlechtseintrag ohne medizinische Nachweise auf dem Standesamt ändern können. Für viele Personen im queeren Aktivismus ist dieses Gesetz ein Erfolg, doch die gesellschaftliche Akzeptanz ist rückläufig.

Why There Are Exactly Two Sexes

Across anisogamous species, the existence of two—and only two—sexes has been a settled matter in modern biology (Lehtonen et al., 2016; Parker et al., 1972). "Male" designates organisms whose biological function is to produce small gametes (sperm), and "female" designates organisms whose biological function is to produce large gametes (ova) (Hilton & Wright, 2023; Minot, 1888; Smith, 1978). This nomenclature reflects two divergent reproductive strategies that recur across a wide range of taxa (Togashi & Cox, 2011). As with the fact of evolution itself, contemporary scientific debates have long moved on from questioning whether the sex binary is a fact to questions about how anisogamy evolved, why it persists, and what its evolutionary consequences are.

In recent years, however, this previously uncontroversial fact has been challenged in popular discourse (Fuentes, 2023; Kralick, 2018; Viloria & Nieto, 2020) and now increasingly in scholarly scientific publications (Ainsworth, 2015; Fuentes, 2025; McLaughlin et al., 2023; Velocci, 2024), seemingly driven by cultural and political debates surrounding the concept of "gender identity" and transgender rights. Popular outlets now routinely publish articles asserting that there are more than two sexes or that sex is a nonbinary "spectrum" conceived as a continuum or as a multivariate cluster of traits. Scholarly articles have amplified this framing by characterizing the sex binary as overly simplistic, outdated, and even oppressive, urging its replacement with broader and putatively more nuanced models (Ainsworth, 2015).

Here I synthesize evolutionary and developmental evidence to demonstrate that sex is binary (i.e., there are only two sexes) in all anisogamous species and that males and females are defined universally by the type of gamete they have the biological function to produce—not by karyotypes, secondary sexual characteristics, or other correlates.

NEWS: Trans and nonbinary identities are indeed in free-fall in college age Americans.

Prof. Jean Twenge @jean_twenge found new survey data that supports @epkaufm's much disputed claim from last week.

Twenge also found data indicating that trans identity increased exponentially by birth year until those born after about 2002. These identities have plummeted in those born more recently—who are now 20 to 23 years old.

The problem with Kaufman's data is it didn't distinguish between trans and nonbinary identities. The data that Twenge found does.

The decline in such identities in younger Americans raises important questions about the future of the field of pediatric gender medicine and the question of whether these identities are at least partially driven by social influences, as opposed to immutable, inborn traits.

The trans downturn might not have been caused by politics, but it has major political implications. First, the data suggest that trans was a social contagion that rose and fell. That means health practitioners who went along with transitioning permitted ideology to trump their responsibility to safeguard their patients from a fad, and to do no harm.

Secondly, since the 2010s, the rise of trans and queer identity has been umbilically connected to a progressive story of the inevitable progress of marginalized groups remaking the mainstream. Cultural reversals profane the progressive left's eschatological "arc of history overcoming resistance" narrative. A movement based on millenarian inevitability cannot accept a loss in the court of public opinion without undermining the sacred narrative. Youth gender identity, alongside public opinion toward natal males accessing female spaces, have both moved against the progressive narrative in recent years. This has opened up a cleft between an insurgent anti-woke center-left and the establishment woke left that continues to roil the Democratic Party.

Wird halt langsam langweilig, sich gewisse Ein- und Ausstülpungen am Körper wegmachen zu lassen. Diese Abkehr ist wahrscheinlich selbst sozial ansteckend, wird aber sicher ne Weile dauern, bis die Infektionswelle auch hier ihren Höhepunkt erreicht.
