Ich frage mich ob das wirklich real ist. Was mich stuzig macht:
- Wie kommt er jemals in ein T-Shirt/Hose.
- Der Arzt aus den USA will in mit Vitamin-A behandeln, was mir etwas zu 'trivial' vorkommt, bei der Diagnose Viren+DNA Defekt. Abgesehn davon - wenn man so eine Immunschwäche hat, müsste man doch auch andere Krankheiten bekommen? (bin allerdings weder Arzt noch Biologe, kann das also nicht beurteilen)
- Mir kam auch vor, dass die Warzen im Gesicht bei verschiedenen Szenen, an versch. Stellen waren.
- Die ganze Geschichte wird primär in Boulvard Medien erwähnt. (hab jetzt nur mal kurz gegoogelt)
- Bei der OP wird angeb. die gesamte Haut der Hand entfernt und Haut einer anderen Körperstelle dorthin transplantiert. Frage: Ist sowas medizinisch überhaupt möglich?
- Er verdient angeb. sein Geld, indem er sich am Jahrmarkt zur Schau stellt. Das finde ich auch eigenartig, da er ja mit der weltweiten Publicity ein Vielfaches dessen verdienen müsste.
Wenns ein Fake ist, wäre ich zwar froh, dass es so ein Horror-Leiden nicht gibt, fände es aber auch ne Sauerei, Leuten so einen Schrecken einzujagen. Was sagt ihr dazu?

BACKGROUND: Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections cause a spectrum of clinical disease states, depending on the causative HPV and the characteristics of the infected host, especially the status of cell-mediated immunity. Generalized verrucosis is an unusual clinical presentation of a disseminated HPV infection associated with severe immunodeficiency status. OBSERVATIONS: We present a case of extreme disfigurement associated with an HPV-2 (common wart virus) infection. Virologic studies, immune status of the patient, and treatment(s) are summarized. CONCLUSIONS: The severe disfigurement of this patient was a result of an underlying severe immunodeficiency, permissive for a disseminated HPV-2 infection that was allowed to progress for many years before the initiation of therapy. Such a rare case illustrates the natural history of generalized verrucosis in the setting of severe immunodeficiency in the absence of sustained medical interventions. Medical and surgical treatments resulted in marked improvement in the general health of this patient, as well as improvement of the disfigurement that resulted from the generalized verrucosis.

1) ja, macht man in verschiedener Form bei solchen u.ä. Hauterkrankungen, wie Schälkuren
2) ja - (Spalt)hautplastik, auch üblich bei so großflächigen Hautdefekten
